Recently our new friend Zach Petschek (http://www.zachpetschek.com) put on a great local skateboarding event in La Mesa, CA called Hesh Sesh 10; just a simple gathering of friends and locals on a flat concrete arena inside a park.
The event was originally created to bring back the Mount Miguel Church skateboard crew. The church was a place where many in La Mesa skated everyday; making memories and forming friendships.
Over the years, the friends had all gone their separate ways and work full time jobs. Hesh Sesh was created to give them a time and place to plan on getting together again and give new kids a place to come and skate like they had.
So, how was STAY VOCAL involved? Zach used some of our old stock of Make Yourself Heard decks as prizes for the "best trick contest." The decks gave the kids a way to express themselves both vocally and in their skating.
We look forward to teaming up with Zach in the future for some possible ReUse skateboarding collaborations.
Check out the Hesh Sesh 10 page (http://zachpetschek.com/hesh-sesh10) for some pictures from the event.
