Today I heard someone say, "I'm helping the American economy by buying an American car." True, he is. But I got really angry about it because many people who are gung ho USA pride, buy all of their USA pride memorabilia at Wal-mart, where almost everything except the employees are made in China. It's ridiculous.
People always tell me that they shop at Wal-Mart,"because you can't beat those prices." But what about the sweatshop where those products are made? And what about the unemployed family and friends over here who lost a job because of outsourcing like that?
These and many other reasons are why I choose to only use products like American Apparel for our new STAY VOCAL merchandise. Sure, it costs us a little more, but we feel good about helping out our country. Our country is in some troubled times, so why not start helping ourselves out? It might take a little more effort, but it will be worth it in the end.
