Recently, I signed a Center for Biological Diversity petition asking the Bush administration to immediately list the polar bear as an endangered species. On Feb 6th, 43,000 petitions were delivered to the White House. But this is only the beginning, as the CBD needs to "mobilize millions of people to stop global warming and save the polar bear. And [they] need to do it soon. The Arctic is melting fast."
The CBD's next move is airing "a television ad that will reach over 10 million people. The ad will explain in a gripping manner that global warming is melting the Arctic and killing polar bears -- and most importantly, that it's not too late. If we all band together, Congress, the administration, and industry will have to start cutting greenhouse gases immediately."
Unfortunately, the CBD needs $50,000 to make 3 different versions of the ad, but if thousands of people donate, that number could be reach very quickly.
